Had a similar problem on my 04 4.4 and it was just the gear position switch - diagnostic check will determine if this is the case - if so then budget around £500 or there's a guy on the bay that rebuilds them for, from memory, £70. |

I think it may be the transfer box ? Left it to cool down for a few hours just tried it again and it has come out of limp mode by its self. If I put it in low range it moves a couple of yards then locks up in drive in high it will drive off but no reverse in either high or low. Will get rac to come and read fault codes in the morning.

Mechanical problems with the NV225 transfer box are extremely unusual. Mechanical problems with the GM 5L40-E transmission are extremely common.

Yes got it diagnosed today they reckon the clutch plates in the rear of the box have failed. Gear box was rebuilt 3?years ago but out of warranty now of course. |
