I would say the correct way is to replace the whole badge but if it was mine, I would clean up where the letter was on the car and the adhesive behind the badge itself,, then apply some body adhesive tape of the same thickness to the back of the badge, then use a sharp knife to trim it before re applying it.

I used number plate double sided from halfords when i pinged mine off. Clean out the old, place over the new then use a craft knife to trim using the lip as a guide. (if you turn it over you'll understand what i mean) Affix on the sun stained spot and job done. Ian |

If you buy the full set of letters they are mounted on a card that is preformed/cut to make positioning correct on the production line. IIRC forum sponsor DCC 4x4 sells the letter sets 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |
