Last week I finally managed to take the P38 to 4x4 Development where a test for (carbon monoxide?) in the coolant tank confirmed the worst.
The plan is to get the engine out and over to Turners where it will be rebuilt with liners, kent cam and I think a stage 1 ported / gas flowed head. May as well whilst it is out. The slight leak on the torque converter can also be fixed. Dave at 4x4 suggested we replace the rad and a few other bits at the same time, which I guess makes sense other than financially
I could get an exchange unit from Turners but that would then not be matching numbers, which seems a bit daft. I've no expectation she'll be worth a great deal in X years, but then I guess folk cutting up Suffix As for trialing thought the same.
