Unidentified sound

I've had my L322 for three months now. This past weekend I went camping, and drove 225km (140 miles) each way. I was doing about 120kph (75mph) for a large chunk of the trip. I had luggage up on the roof, and a hitch mounted bicycle rack.

On the way there I heard a random sound (maybe a buzzing sound or something actuating?)... It only lasted 1-2 seconds, so I was not able to pinpoint where it came from. It happened twice on the way there, and once on the way back.. it happened mid way through each drive too.

Any ideas what it may have been?

Thanks

If it's from the boot ( trunk) area then it could be the suspension compressor topping up the air resovoir. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Does that typically only take a second or so? I will try to pay more attention if it happens again.

It'd just be good to understand what the sound is, even if it's normal operation of the vehicle.

It could just be the air conditioning system flaps moving about. Every so often mine do this audibly - I guess when the amount of movement is significant. Most of the time I hear nothing. I find it's especially noticeable when it happens if it's the ones controlling airflow to the rear seats (i.e. under the central cubby). 2012 TDV8 Westminster in the New Forest

when stationary raise and lower the suspension to off road height twice and you should hear the compressor running as it refils the resovoir so you will know what it sounds like. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
