Grooved Drilled Discs?

I need to replace the front discs and pads on my 2010 3.6 TDV8. As well as OEM I notice Island 4x4 list drilled and Grooved discs for the car.

Has anyone any experience with these - are they worth it in terms of any improved braking performance or should I stick with OEM?

Noisy as hell! Stick with OEM plain discs.
I fitted drilled and grooved to mine as I use it mainly for towing and regret it.

As already stated, they do make a difference, but there is noise when braking heavily, worth it you you get regular brake fade / or you can smell them Rolling Eyes

Otherwise I'd stick with plain! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

My rears are drilled/slotted and I don't find them to be noisy. Ron B. VK2OTC

I had them fitted to the front, and you could hear them when you stood on the pedal.... remembering that the fronts do 70% of the braking, it would mean that the rears are 70% quieter Very Happy

Under normal driving you wouldn't know that they were there, it's only when you're kissing the windscreen that you can hear them Embarassed Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

My 322 came with drilled front and back and I've found them to be noisey with vibration coming through the brake pedal inside the car under heavy braking and squealing like mad outside the car when coming to a stop no matter what speed!

Changed the Britpart pads that were on the front to Brembo which helped for a while but back to squealing like a pig again!

very embarrassing........ Rolling Eyes

Well i don't know which grooved and drilled discs Craig put on mine when he had it and i bet they weren't cheap but i wouldn't go back to normals now ever after these, quiet as standard but more than double the breaking than a pals 2011 and no noise difference Thumbs Up _____________________________________________________
