United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Stornoway Grey

Hi All

Just been reading this thread. I have had issues with my 4.4 TDV8 for several months now. I have noticed that after driving my car for a few miles, there is a burning oil smell and smoke appears to come out from the engine bay.

At first, I took it to my local mechanic who opened the V and said the leak was from the drive shaft seal and replaced this. Problem continued so took it back to have the "O" rings changed. Again still same problem.

So now, i decide to take it to a specialist Land Rover Garage. They checked it over and advised the gearbox is leaking and required a new filter and pan. This was done and guess what... the problem is still there.

I have spent over 1K on this already and getting really fed up now. The only thing left is the Oil Cooler. Will get my mechanic to check this over now and see what the outcome is.. fingers crossed that its just the seal.

Thanks

Green Oval in Leeds too. Take it to someone who knows these cars inside out. Not just any old mechanic. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

It was in a while as my oil cooler was cracked. They ordered one from Gordon Lamb and that arrived damaged, and I needed the coolant flushing out about 4 times to get rid of the oil......

Total cost was...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I know this is not relating to an oil cooler leak however the specialist garage I took my car to sort the leak out also changed my front disc and pads. Please have a look at the pic of the front pads that they fitted. The pad.has fallen forward a d is grinding on the disc.

So after a week being stood at my local indy... he diagnosed the leak to be coming from the sump and not the oil cooler. Has anyone ever heard of this??.

I've got the car booked in with the dealers on Monday so will let them have a look at my expense.

Not sure now... ------------------------------------------------------
