Seems to be slightly worse or more pronounced when the rear end area is wet or its been raining . . . |

See thread in 405 'Maintenance & Modifications' re tailgate rubbing on D pillars, could it be that? Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

I'd guess it's the plastic panelling on the inside rubbing against the tailgate - should have adhesive rubbing strips / foam at various locations to mitigate this, also worth checking all the panel clips are pressed home fully / present (esp. if its been removed previously for some reason). |
