HUD for L322

The price of after market head up display units have come down. Has anyone fitted one to a L322? If so, any feedback?

Thanks. ______________________________

Aftermarket ones only use GPS. You do't get any of the other information the genuine ones have like gear selection, nav instructions and so on. Plus of course, it's yet another damn charging cable to try and hide someplace

Thanks for the replies.

OBD is not a good option for these cars given the location of the port is right above the acc pedal.

I'm surprised only Garmin have made a GPS version with speed zone warnings. But none have made one with a navigation function that I can find. ______________________________

If you were going to use one which connects to the OBD port it would pay you to solder in a piggyback OBD connector up behind the dash.

There is sufficient cable on the OBD port for it to be relocated to behind the right side dash side panel, the one the door covers when it is closed.

The OBD itself is held in by a clip which slides off and the OBD 'socket' can be removed from the housing. How you mount it behind the side panel is up to you; several (if not most or all) OBDII surrounds will be able to receive the OBD 'socket' and on many there is sufficient plastic on the surround to be able to either attach some basic bracketry or maybe even directly to the metal frame behind the panel.

The panel is easily removed by lifting the edge nearest to the seat upwards (two fixings) and then simply sliding out.

Hope this helps with your cunning plan.
