wiring up 2010 rear lights

hi all, there are a few people like my self on this forum that are finding the 2010 rear lights more attractive.
but tere lots of questions about whats the best way to wire them up,what resitsters to use, what wires and where to cut into the loom, fog light issues,a member posted "just need a relay and a resister"and even that you have to cut the body work Shocked well lets find out what relay and where to put it, some of these resiters can get very hot so caution should be used as no one wants to watch there 2010 lights glowing as the rest of the car is on fire.
PICTURES are whats needed and lets make them good ones,
the lights are now dropping below the £300 a set
agian i would like to add led 's for the front indicator, any advice will be great to all...

I'll let you know how I get on with mine, since they come complete with resistors. I'm sure there's no cutting of bodywork, I was talking to a Land Rover sales guy today and he said they had upgraded some earlier cars with the later lights and they're an easy fit.

I know the front light upgrade requires bodywork modification, maybe somebody was mixed up?

Good point about the car catching fire, it's prompted me to think it's probably something which you need to inform the insurance company about? Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

hi scarey, yes i know adam from l322, he helped me with my bluetooth conversion, he was one of the first to do the 2010 conversion on his car and soon found out about the fog light issue, he has also got the 2010 mirrors fitted and working as well. he has a full list of the wires for the 2006 and 2010 headlamps. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Anybody have any ideas or knowledge about this? I've received my set of 2010 lights, and they have resistors to resolve the indicator issues. The resistors are to be mounted on the outside of the inner skin, in order to dissipate heat.

No mention is made of a resolution to any possible issues with the foglights though, the vendor says that the only problem is usually that the fog light on light will come on initially when you start up the car, but I've heard from my mechanic that when they fitted a set before the foglight remained partly on all the time.

Any feedback or advice would be welcomed! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

hi, as far as i know they are on when you switch on the side lights as the fogs share the same supply, its the lcm that controls the voltage to make them brighter when fogs are selected and with a standard lcm it puts full power to them all the time, hench the fogs always on.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Hi the fog light circuit has around 4 volts on it all the while so you need to insert a relay so that with 4 volts across the coil it will not energise however when you switch the fogs on the 4 voltts rises to 12 volts and then powers the lamp you will require a resistor across this to rid the error message

What i've been advised by the nice chaps at L322.com is to disconnect the wire to the fogs as a work around, if the guys fitting it can't find another solution I'll live with this until a better solution is found (and published!). Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!
