Paddle Shift?

Hi, I've been a fairly light user over on the rrsport forum for the last 3 years or so. Currently own an RRS S'charged, and am somewhat on the way to picking up a 2010 FFRR S'charged. However, couple of questions if anyone could enlighten me?

1) I know the 2010 RRS S'charged has the option of paddle-shift, but does the FFRR?

2) Exterior will be black, but interior I'm thinking of either:

Jet/Ivory

or

Ivory/Jet

Being completely indecisive, I'd appreciate any comments on the interior choice Confused

Thanks in advance and hope to spend more time here!

United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Hi, Welcome.

Never heard of paddle shift in any of the cars, so I just checked and see its part of the SC package. Wow. I've not heard of it mentioned for the FFRR, and its most likely because the FFRR is about refined performance, rather than the you younger sporty image of the Sport. A different target market. I once saw an X5 owner retro fit the SMG paddles to his 4.6, it didn't really work on a 4x4.

About the interior, if I were choosing between those two, I would go for dark seat outers, as these will be where they get rubbed and therefore the most dirty, black will hide it. Discovery 4 HSE

Thanks!

I figured it might not be spec'd for the FFRR, and could not find any info saying it was an option. However, did drive the RRS S'charged last week with the paddle shift and can report that it was quite fluid. Wasn't abrupt or "mechanical" like those found in a Lambo or Ferrari. Obviously being a refined 4X4 this was not expected anyway. Shame though, would've loved to have it as an option (for those stressed out days!)

That'll be because of the slush box in the RR, rather than a semi-auto gearbox Java with Ivory 2006 4.2 Supercharged. 23.5k miles - NOW SOLD!

Had an RRSport 3.0 TDV6 (diesel of course) loaner last week with paddle shift Shocked Very useful for a quick change down change on a motorway (without having to 'kick' for it).

About 60 seconds later the gear box went automatically back into automatic if left untouched (poor grammar) Embarassed

Stealer told me it was a £120 option (now that's cheap for a change) Whistle Currently running FFRR MY10 TDV8 3.6L and a Disco 3 XS Commercial (tank like but very effective as a Company van). Plus one mint condition Track Day Car in the form of an E36 M3 3.2L Evolution circa June 1996 with lots of go faster bits and only 52k miles on the clock! Oh, plus a few bits to make it slow down really quickly as well! Luvverly.

I'd also go for the dark outer trim for the same reason plus I think it looks better. FFRR TD6 HSE

Certainly now standard on 4.4 TDV8s with 8 speed 'box. Unsure about 5.0S/C (it has the old gearbox and selector lever)

I drove the 4.4 TDV8 for 90 minutes and used the "Paddle Shift" system so I know its there! You can use either paddle to shift up & down (Forward or back) and hold the right paddle in for a second or two to change back to "Drive"..... Thumbs Up

The picture in the e-brochure shows the conventional gear lever AND the paddle switches on the same car

I think that is the case with the new S/C as they kept the stick shift for sportiness - so I am told.

I can confirm that our diesel has the paddle shift and it is fantastic. Cruise along at about 1000rpm, drop down from 8th to 5th and the car charges ahead.

The supercharged has the old gearbox and traditional gear stick. Diesel gets the 8 speed and rotary shift. *Gone* Discovery3 HSE

I thought that since they've done away with the gearstick and one just has a knob thing ala jag one needs the paddles to be able to manually change either fast on road or delicate off road?

It's also a retrofitable option to the earlier cars, but that's a different story.

If you look at the eBrochure on the LR site, on page 45 or so, there is a picture of the dash & controls. You can clearly see the paddle shifter AND the gear selector is the conventional stick NOT the dial. It's not clear what vehicle they are showcasing, ie diesel or S/C but it looks like the paddle shift might be able to fit on the S/C

Dan, pray tell what you know about retrofitting?

As stated above I am pretty sure they all have paddleshift now but the S/C retained the Stick rather than dial for reasons of sportiness.
