Now that we have darker nights I have noticed that the rear lights flash when I turn off the ignition. The light switch is in the off position and the car is dark, but when I turn the key and remove it I can see a reflection in my neighbours window of my rear red lights flash just the once. Dont know which (brake or side) but why do they do it? QUID FACIUM TIBI

Are they LED, as the cold monitoring which fires a low voltage at the lamp to see if it is working will illuminate an LED but not an incandescent bulb...

Definitely not led and they dont flash - they come on.....then go off. Almost as long as the indicators when you lock the car but it only happens when I turn the ignition off and the lights are not on...... QUID FACIUM TIBI
