Australia 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black
Air Susp. Inactive. Blackbox solutions.

Gday.

Ive got the usual Air Susp. Inactive on the screen. I usually wait till I'm home or arrive at our destination and plug in the Blackbox solution and clear the faults.

First I go to the Dynamic Stability Control V1.26, which tells me Ive got an Air Suspension Can Error. I clear that and I go to the Wabco EAS which tells me Ive got an Articulation Validity Fault, (Current Intermittent) and I clear that.

No issues for some time but it always goes back to the same fault.

Can anyone offer any ideas as to where, physically, that this fault may be coming from, i.e. a plug, loose or frade wire, ECU connection?

Looking forward to any ideas on this issue.

Thanks heaps

Jim

It will be a failing height sensor, they sometimes give you a bit of warning with that fault before they die completely...

If you can read live values you may find the culprit, usually the failing one will change slightly when the cars not moving, the good ones will stay still..

Changed all of mine now and two of them gave your symptoms, the other two just died straight off.... Thumbs Up Pete

Also, if away from home, suggest you don't clear the fault, (if the height sensor has "broken") as the suspension may drop to the bump stops, leaving for an uncomfortable ride home! ( If driveable?)

This happened to be when one of my height sensors broke, thought I was being clever clearing the fault at work with my IIDTool, only to find I was on the bump stops! .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Tim, if it happens again, go into service/test and you can raise the corners manually, this locks the EAS off so it stays at that height, then replace the sensor at leisure and turn the EAS back on with the IID.... That's why it's the best tool... Thumbs Up Pete
