ABS speed sensor either broken, or reluctor ring rusted away and not doing its job anymore .

Hello again, still no joy with my suspension problem. I lifted the back and removed the wheel arch lining to see better, removed the sensor easily, unpluged it gave it all a clean, nothing noticable, looked like new.lol then while under the car i noticed the left tire looked a bit worn on the inner edge, on a closer look i could see wire Rolling Eyes both rear tyres had the inner edge worn right through, an imminant blowout. Put the spare on the worst worn side and connected the Iid tool. All faults cleared and suspension working fine, up down up down. Very Happy booked the car in for two new tyres and a wheel alignment. Went to pick up the car and, you guessed it BONG, llights all on. Connect the Iid tool rear right wheel speed sensor open circuit, this time the Iid tool wont clear the fault so i am stuck in ride height.any ideas gratefuly accepted. Big Cry

I have this problem at the moment.

Hopefully fitting a new wheel speed sensor will rectify it. Current cars:

So did mine!

How quickly do you want a sensor? I bought the wrong one initially, which I believe should work with pre 07 cars.

Could send it to you for postage cost.

No idea.

Just know that pre 07MY the part number for the rear sensor is SSF000021 and 07MY upto 10MY is SSF500021. Current cars:

Postage is £9.55 according to Royal Mail. They think it's also 5-7 working days delivery, which I'll take with a pinch of salt.

The sensor cost £20, but I'm not asking anything for it.

yes putting the wrong later model sensor in the rear left wheel added 100kph on my speedo speed when I was only doing $60kph! LOL

The plot thickens, today while driving at about 50kph i applyed brakes and got a loud grating sound from the front and BONG the suspension inactive and ABS lights were on, braked again , no noise, parked for a while and then when driving home same again, grinding noise when i apply brakes and dash lights up but brakes work as normal drives normal except for suspension inactive and ABS lights. Very unsettling at the least. Any ideas? I will check with my Iir tool to see what faults if any. Thanks ahead of time.

Why do you not suspect pads worn through?

The grinding noise is only momentary when the dash lights come on there is no noise and brakes work as normal but no suspension alteration. If was worn brakes wouldn,t it grind all the time?
