Odd turbo noise - not the usual whistle

Hi all,

Having a strange problem - when engine is warmed up, when lifting off the accelerator at around 2k RPM there is an odd whooshing noise, it sounds strangely like an old style BOV. The usual whistle when you lift off is still there. After its happened I can also hear a quieter constant noise coming out from the fins on the drivers side, after a while it will disappear and will not come back until you start driving again. It has me completely baffled.

I will add at this point, no smoke from exhausts, crankcase breather has been changed, no EML.

When I bought the car the MAP sensor was unplugged, and it didn't make the noise then. I presume because it was limiting the boost and running in a safe mode. (again, no EML light on then).

Bit of a weird one. Hoping the turbo isn't cooked as I need a new air strut as of last night too. Hoping not, as it still is pulling well. Shocked

Any suggestions appreciated!
