Removing Heads/ Block

Hello Guys. I'm looking for some help. My 3.6 TDV8 RR is still broken.

As you may know from my previous threads. I ordered a engine from the UK and the person turned out to be a scammer. 2500 pounds down the drain. I then managed to source a replacement block and head as I believe my piston and head are damaged due to EGR valve breaking off and being sucked in the inlet.

My mechanic has removed the engine and I have a number of questions. My head and block has not been separated yet due to not having a timing tool. Is this required to inspect the cylinder. I realise this may seem like a stupid question.

Likewise I ordered a replacement block which I sourced at a low price. It's working perfect but the head has been removed and the timing not set. How do we go about setting this now?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Thumbs Up

I would phone Craig @ Cam Tech. Fingers crossed he would oblige with the info you need. Although i'm pretty sure he's at the Lemans classic this week.

I will give Craig a ring, but perhaps as suggested it would be best if I left it until next week. I pay via bank transfer, the police are currently investigating it - however it could be a long process unfortunately. I've been buying online for years and the scammer was not your traditional type. He knew all about the vehicles and we discuss various sub systems at length.

How some people sleep at night is beyond me!!
