TD6 Turbo boost probs Resolved

It's my month for problems it seems,

The turbo pipe from the intercooler keeps 'blowing off' at the intercooler end - I'm woundering if there is to much pressure? - checked and it appears to be running at max of 220kpa - (30psi) - Can anyone advise on what it should be (or what theirs is)

Not sure what the symptoms of the turbo vanes sticking are but might be worth investigating along with the MAP sensor

Thanks for the though wayneg - thankfully it was a easy fix.

So it looks like the normal operating pressure of @ 30 odd psi is correct for the TD6 turbo. After removing the under trays I noticed the intercooler pipe was hanging off , In typical fashion it hasn't been designed with a simple jubilee clamp but with spring loaded 'clip' that located onto a shoulder/ grove on the intercooler itself. (Photo of pipe and clip in position)


Trouble was my clip was missing and I could not get a replacement clip - so had to buy a whole intercooler pipe and then re fitted the 0.0001p clip onto the old pipe. (I thought about replacing the pipe as well however access to the turbo is a massive job so , if the pipe splits in the future I have a spare!

So I fitted the clip , put the pipe back on the cooler with a nice 'click' , put all the under trays back on and (yes you've guessed it it blew off again as the boost increased) - Back to square one!!

Long story short my missing clip had actually corroded and failed leaving a segment in the grove of the cooler, thus the new clip didn't have enough of a grip and then let go. A bit of effort and skinned knuckles removed the rusty bit and refitted all ok .

Just though I would let you know what happened in case anyone else suffers a similar issue.
