Hi Lamb, a simple trick to test if the fan is still running and for how long, is to put a bit of tissue over the grill on the panel in the dash. The tissue will be sucked to it whilst the fan is running. It will fall off when the fans stops - which you will see through the window of the locked car.

Would fuse 23 (steering wheel relay) or fuse 29 (steering wheel heater ecu) be ok for a switched feed? Current: 2004 Vogue 4.4 V8 - 2004 Discovery 2 Previous: 2000 P38 DHSE - 1995 P38 DT Man - 1990 3.9 SE Classic, 1980 3.5 Classic 2dr |

Try Fuse position 7 which is unused, I have a connector in it and I'm pretty sure it is ignition controlled.

The L322 2003 Electrical library shows fuse 7 as unused but rated at 5A. Is this still OK to use?. I've bought a 30A fused 4 pin relay (blade fuse) along with an 'add a fuse' connector that allows original fuse back in plus new fuse for extra circuit. With this in mind would I be better using a fuse position that is already rated the same 10A or above?

Fuse 7 at 5A will be fine to switch the contacts on the relay.
