And if it breaks at the other end and not in the car how am I going to get the bonnet open then? Range Rover quotes.....

I believe the only way is to remove the wheel and inner wing on the passenger side (Left Front), "get in there" (or find suitable small person who can), which gives access to the catches, and with tools release the catches.

Make sure you are properly jacked up and supported with axle stands before trying this! .

^ That's what happened to mine. My first question to the mechanic was, "how did you get the bonnet open?" He explained that the cable broke inside the car, so he just put some vice grips on it and pulled. Bonnet opened.

Well thanks guys you lot was smack on the button.

Removed the handle and bracket and yes the resistance I could feel was indeed the spring and yes it had snapped behind the bracket.

All changed.

Massive thanks guys much appreciated indeed for your help and advise. Range Rover quotes.....
