I have only ever found the Range Wardens out when the flags are flying. Usually I'm so Censored scared of being shot I'm super careful and always checking to make sure I've not crossed the boundary. A lot of the ROW's scout around the edges and when the flags are flying I tend to stay off these, although I'm sure they aren't shooting anywhere near the edge I'd rather be safe.

When playing over on the tank tracks though, straying wouldn't worry me too much, it's so desolate you're not going to hit anything or damage anything. However, I always keep the ROW in view as it's easy to get lost since stupid MK4 nav doesn't store off road waypoints like the MK3.

Some of the tracks created by the tanks are not ROW, but if they look like fun I have been known to have a poke around. Even then though I wouldn't drive them for miles as you might end up somewhere you really don't want to be!

Drove the ROW past Copehill Down whilst an attack was going in......
All the troops were on the start line one side of the road, village on other, drove through the middle.....

It was ok though, as I my Range Rover is "Blank proof"! Wink Laughing

I believe that was 9 mile river that we crossed, it was only wheel height except for one drop and if you were steady ! it didn't come anywhere near coming over the bonnet as my better half proved when she piloted the FF through on her 1st wading experiance.
The only downside was crap that had collected in the rad, so the week after it was off with the fan blade and a good long rinse out of the Plain's finest.

Looks like I will still be on leave until the end of April. So that I can start looking for accommodation does anybody know where the start is likely to be - also intend to book the car into LPR for it's first service either the week before or the week after the event (I think LPR would prefer to see it before the event Whistle !) 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Not even looked at routes yet.
Hoping to pick the brains of some members that have already been there and have a drive round a month or two before the event.

Salisbury would be good though, bound to be well within 30 minutes of the meeting point from there.

Thumbs Up
I have to come down to London 4 times between the end of January and April 10 - all are either Friday afternoon or Wednesday afternoon appointments. I wasn't intending to drive there and back for them all but if you need another who has never been on the Plain to join recce then I could come south in the 90 to save a few miles on the FFRR.
Would take a couple of days driving in the 90 though, but hey the fuel is paid for by somebody else and the 90 only normally does 2-3000 miles a year so a long trip would do it some good (although it might cause a lot of pain to the driver!!!) 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Well I'm up for it. We're going to drag the Tintent down to Salisbury and make a long weekend of it. Should be good.
