All the ones I mentioned were of the same issue, oil cooler - to answer a post above.

Thanks. It would be good to know if the fracture is always at a fitting which presumably is fatigue from vibration in case something can be done to alleviate the movement. The original part number doesn't seem to have been superseded so presumably the same failure is going to re-occur in another 4 or so years.

When I get an opportunity I'll have a look for any connecting pipes that might cause fatigue.

Had a similar issue earlier in the year with oil down the back of the engine. Main dealer diagnosed as the seals on the turbo oil feed pipe. Apparently a known fault and there is a new part with better seals available. Replaced under warranty but it didn't fix it.

Still leaking oil and the vehicle smells of hot oil after a journey and occasionally produces mist on cold nights! Took it back in and diagnosed oil cooler leak.

Vehicle is in as we speak with the oil heat exchanger being replaced. Fortunately it's under warranty as it won't be cheap.

I had leaking seals on the turbo pipe too, but noticed that i have oil in the coolant so as soon as the replacement cooler arrives from Dan, I'll be replacing it.

The oil cooler comes as a kit with filter and seals at £350.......not a cheap fix, but cheaper than letting it continue to contaminate the coolant !!
