Ok was all set to pick up the car, but thought I'd phone just to make sure all was well. Its a 5 hours round trip for me. I won't mention the dealer just yet.

Mine had a massive oil leak down the back of the engine and over the gearbox as the oil cooler was cracked. I know you said pump.... The oil cooler is in the V.... No oil in engine, as its gone into the coolant system. £1097 later all is well.

Thanks for the replies gent's. i have a free app on my mobile that records all calls, i listened to the call and he said a hair line crack in the top of the oil pump, he said the oil was weeping out of it, so no rapid loss of oil. I'll check the coolant to see if there's any oil in it, but how would this be done as the oil would float on top of the coolant, so just looking in the expansion tank would be no good would it?

Funny that, my 4.4 tdv8 2012 has just come back from a new oil cooler change, that had a slow weep on one of the fittings. It slowly filled the V up in the center of the engine, and then started pouring down the back of the engine! It looked pretty bad, but had not lost a lot of oil.

I can't recollect if it was on here or another forum but there was some discussion regarding Saxton's customer services and back-up; may be worth investigating and making your own mind up.

Just taken my 2012 4.4 TDV8 for service this morning with an oil leak in the V of the engine and oil dripping over the gearbox and exhaust. It has been getting worse over the last couple of months, but I've not had to add any oil.
