If you do take it off and I recommend you do, clean it up and put in a safe place for possible future re-fitting just in case it becomes an MOT inspection item. |

I would have thought if you've had it remapped, it should have been blanked.

Thankfully that is one part of the engine that Land Rover got right, they declined the swirl flaps as they didn't want to as unreliable as a BMW...... and then they beat them on experience Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

The gearbox isn't that bad..... just don't tow in normal range between 30 and 50 for long times... if you have a tin tent and your sitting at 55+ then there are no worries And BMW did inflict the GM 5L40E gearbox on themselves too.... wonder if there were any brown envelopes involved..... cos on paper it's obviously the wrong choice to start with Is there some smug BMW executive sitting on his German towel by the pool, living the life, and it's all paid for with our pain....... I'd like to meet him Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

100% remove it, Not long after getting my TD6 I did the delete, went to the trouble of removing the inlet manifold and cleaning all the gunk out, Vortex breather, K&N type filter and tune chip all at the same time. Difference was chalk and cheese. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Nice and easy job just to fit the blanking piece. No need to clean anything unless you want to take off the inlet manifold and clean out all the gunk. That is a disgusting task but again easy, just more time consuming 2007 TDV8 VSE
