2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

Judder when braking

Hi All,

So, I had a pulsing through the brake pedal when braking moderately, I felt sure this was warped discs, so ordered and fitted Britpart cross drilled and grooved discs and EBC ultimax pads, and guess what, right, no change.

Car is a 2007 TDV8 with 188k kms, what do I check next?

Couple of years ago I had a similar issue. Mine had decent pads but I fitted LR genuine and the judder vanished.

Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Could be pads - could be a sticky caliper, or could be flange / hub causing the disk to not rotate completely true - or could be something else entirely.....

I was thinking, bushes, ball joints etc but will take the discs off again to be really sure they are seated flat as a very flat thing, any other thoughts?

Brake judder at what speed or is it the same whatever speed you're braking at? 2009 Vogue TDV8 Nara Bronze

did you check the rears? cant be wrong to look there, if only as prevention/rule out/safety.

Sounds like rotors might be warped.

It's not really noticeable at less than 45 mph and most noticable above 55 but only when braking gently/moderately.

Discs are what we Brits call rotors, see post 1

Good point, will check at the indie with a run-out gauge, but not hopeful as it feels like front.

I'd check the fronts are running true at the same time... I had a warped new disc... It was a Britpart drilled a slotted one

Because it was obvious which side was warped I put the old disc on just to check.. and it disappeared.. So Miffed of Milton Keynes was sent a new disc... funnily without question Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Miggit, I take that on board, but, the old ones where replaced because of pulsing, so doesn't this point to something else, bearings etc?

By the way, did you notice that the new "rotors" where much noisier than plain discs?

Err sort of only under heavy braking But it's a small price to pay for the stopping power that they offer Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
