I've searched high and low both with search and wiki and failed so........

All works just fine but I have a dribble coming from down around the camera, on the outside. At first I thought it was water from the roof but as so regular I'm starting to think I have a leak as ever time I go out I get this mess.
The wiper motor is only 5 months old so don't suspect that item but possibly fitted poorly ?

Has anybody experience of similar ? Many thanks

It's easy enough to take the rear spoiler off to see .
Top section pulls off on inside of tailgate and you'll see 3 bolts(maybe4) holding spoiler on .
There's also a plug for 3rd brake light .

Hopefully it's a loose water pipe after the new motor was fitted. I will check and report back here so others may benefit. Many thanks

if its outside it won't be the washer feed, these are internal and run inside the upper tailgate trim, and from memory come in from the opposite side to the camera in any case :thumbs:

the wiper motor is also in there too, and if that leaking it tends to pool in the trim panel and drip onto the rear parcel shelf  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

So based upon the fact all the inside is dry then it's probably where the pipe comes from inside to the outside and connects to the wiper wash bit, makes sense. Many thanks

there isn't a pipe for the wash wipe as such, it basically connects to the wiper motor (to the nozzle on the back red circle) and is fed to the outside through the spindle of the wiper arm (blue circle), the nozzle of the washer is basically in the wiper arm itself.

sounds like its just trapped water to me, the spoiler is easy to remove but can try your patience getting it back on.... there isn't anything much to see under there TBH. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

On the searches I kept coming across mentioned trapped water but this seems just to much, almost constant at times but hard to tell.

I wonder if any others reading this can say if trapped water comes out around both sides of the camera, guess that would answer it as little point in pulling the spoiler now. Many thanks

mine does it, its just standing water.

on another note my motor has started to leak, but the motor works fine,
im thinking is the an area on the upper tailgate by the motor under the spoiler thin enough to drill a hole ,fit a normal jet and do away with this silly design .

no but there is a fairly easy fix for the existing setup. It will be the seal against the shaft in the motor, can be removed and replaced with a new seal, just requires a bit of fiddling about. Have a search for rear wash wipe fix, there is a full description of how to do it

Replacing the seal worked for me.

It was a bit of a faff, but way cheaper than replacing the motor and gearbox.

The wiper repair is quite easy to do, when I did mine I found that the old seal can be poped out of the black plastic fitting with a screwdriver, making refitting a lot easier. And I did have to repair the pitted shaft with some epoxy resin to stop it ripping the new seal. I also used the epoxy to stick the plastic fitting back in place rather than small screws. As long as you don't push the new seal all the way home, and just leave it flush with the plastic bit, the seal will be running on new(ish) metal. The only other thing I did was lube up the shaft before reassembly and used a twisting motion, otherwise the spring can become dislodged from the seal  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I spent some of the weekend about with my rear wash-wipe but I just cannot get it to work. I replace the non return valve, and that is working fine as evidenced by disconnecting the delivery side and pushing the wash wipe stalk - a good squirt comes through immediately.
Anyway, so with it all connected up, the pitch of the motor changes from normal to a high pitch when the pipework is reconnected and the switch is pressed - suggesting the pump is trying to work against a backpressure. So, that suggets blocked nozzles. After running a sewing pin in and out of each of the 2 nozzles, I was rewarded with a small squirt of very brown water - suggesting that the blockage has just been cleared, no? Well, nope - upon trying again, I got a few ml of brown dribble before normal non-service was resumed. I tried the "poke pin through it, then hit wash button" technique 5 times but still to no avail. I can only therefor assume that something inside the body of the wiper motor assembly is causing the blockage? Should I try putting some suction on the supply hose into the body, to try and draw a blockage back out? It really is beginning to irritate me now! NW060
