^ it would also concern me that if indeed Chinese copies are being made available that the units are safe to use.
You just have to look at the recent Chinese copies of "Hoverboards" causing fires due to dubious quality lithium batteries and badly designed/manufactured circuit boards and chargers.
Be a shame to buy one of these things only to have it burn your house down or burn your car out.

for what its worth, the FLOUREON® T3 18000mAh is the real deal.

After spending all of 1 hour (felt like hours thou) on you tube and the internet in general, the FLOUREON kit is the real deal and not a copy made by my uncles and aunt's in the Motherland

I've ordered today from Amazon.

Have only used it to start a laguna 1.9dci which it did (from flat) and also charged my wifes laptop (from 50%) and kept it topped up for 7hrs with about 50% charge remaining in the pack - according to the blue LEDs.
RR battery is new so no probs here, yet

When being charged, the unit stays cool.

What does 'flat' mean ?

Does it mean the car would turn over but not fire - or completely dead so that when you open the door, the interior light doesn't even come on ?

Useful that t's able to run a laptop for 20 hours - or whatever that maths is - and if that's its primary purpose with the added benefit of maybe tipping the balance on a car that would almost start - then I can see the case for one.

I'm still sceptical about it's car starting abilities and buying one when that is your primary intention......

Sorry, to clarify.
Flat in this instance means ignition lights on but no attempt to turn the engine over.
Ignition lights go out when attempting to start and a single click from the solenoid.
I do have a totally flat battery in the garage but can't be arsed to connect it to check. More important things in life (at the moment).
If it won't start a totally flat (no interior lights) battery then I am no worse off than if I didn't have it, but for £50, (loose change in FFRR ownership terms), worth a punt as it has many other uses, laptop supply being just one. Keeping my wife working at home when she left her charger at work was worth the £50 on its own.

Certainly worth considering - IIRC then I paid not far of that a few years ago just for a USB battery pack to charge my GoPro when out and about

So thought of in that context - with a potential benefit of a car battery booster - seems too be quite attractive

I bought one of the cheaper £40ish 32000mah portable power packs, 6 months ago from ebay, likely a Chinese copy.
It performed faultlessly until last week or so. I gave it heavy use, I would suggest around 35 jump starts on varying vehicles, everything being 3.0 or above. It started a 4.4 V8 M62 that had been left for 2 months, a TD6 and a TDV8. It would start a completely dead car, i.e. even the central locking was inoperable.
I used it on my preserved police vehicle, the blue lights had been used without the runlock system and was completely dead, started that no problem!

I, however, suspect it's continual use lead to its demise. It doesn't hold charge very well now. It will jump start one vehicle before requiring charging. I was very sceptical at first, but they really do work.

I have now invested in a £98 device, which appears visually similar but I know to be more durable.

For occasional use, the cheaper devices would work well, but for extended use I would advise the more expensive ones. I'll add the link to the one I bought later.

Bought a Floureon T3 18,000 mAh unit - from fleabay for £57 inc compressor

so far have only used it to start a fiesta that hadn't been started for 9 months, battery completely flat no lights on ignition, started it first time - quite impressed
intend to use it this weekend to try starting my mates TDV8 3.6 as his battery is knackered, only to test the unit , then he'll get new battery - will report back how we got on

just for info - decided to put the Floureon unit on charge in boot of my L405 , using the accessory socket that only comes live when engine running - thought that should keep it topped up,
BUT with it plugged in and charging it blocks the DAB radio signal completely the RDS radio still works fine
I assume the DAB reciever is behind the left hand side panel where the accessory socket is located and that the 12v cable being live blocked it - however didn't check to see if anything else was being blocked ie Sat Nav or BT

have now plugged it into one of rear accessory sockets DAB all working and unit charging when engine started
only telling this story as this caused me serious grief that the DAB had gone up the swanny and I would have to return to the stealers to repair - happy when I realised what was causing the problem  various other LR's this one is still the best

I completely forgot about the 12v port in the boot!!!! I've been charging mine with the rear 12v by the passengers seat.

I have a snap on power 1700 jump pack and when my battery was dead I put it on and it jump my 4.4 v8 nice and easy went to get the battery checked out and it was gone so put a new one on and touch wood no more problems.

Got the same pack but it WONT start a TDV8.
