Now its dark - here they are:

(OK, I cheated a bit by adding a bit of sparkle in GiMP), but these are sidelights, they're brighter than the headlights on my MG Midget! .

Now fitted and a a big improvement, but what a mare to fit!

The bracket with the nut on the passenger side has been broken and bodged by the previous owner or garage!

After getting it out was straight forward but I have now got to repair the bracket, that said I will do a much better job than whoever did it before, a 5 year old could have fixed it better than that!

Are the 2007-on easier or something? I simple undid 3 screws to the grille, three more for the headlamp unit and out it popped - easiest thing I'd ever done despite worrying it'd be a mare.

I don't think so. on my '02 its simply a case of undoing the plastic nut at the back and releasing the clip at the top front and you are done.

What seems to be the problem is that "past egits" have either knackered the nut at the back or it has disintegrated, or broken off the top clip, and effected less than suitable repairs - I must confess that one of my top clips is brolen off, neatly secured using a plastic zip tie. .

It shouldnt be hard, just turn the plastic nut, and pop the light out to get at the bulbs, the other side was fine.

On the passenger side tho, the plastic nut was jammed on, and the bracket was broken. I am amazed it never fell out, the previous owner kind of wedged something behind to hold it tighter!!!

I had to fabricate a new bracket, and changed the rusty old bolt for the hand nut. Works a treat now, and is easy as it should have been, and is cheaper then a new headlight!

That said, my hands are sore now! Total time (inc fabricating new bracket) - 2 hours for a bulb change! lol

Ok gentlemen,
It's the end of the week and my brain isn't functioning too well. From what i read the above side lights will fit a 2006 - but i cannot understand the bit about the canbus - should they be got with or without?.
If i fitted them will the lights flicker on ignition?
Stupid question i know, but thanks in advance
Cheers

oh bu66er, just tried the link to find "item removed".

So what lights can one upgrade to?.
