I want to reject the car as I think its a lemon. Its delivery was delayed due the car not taking its software. They had it for 5 weeks for a multitude of faults but in essence the car kept shutting down leaving me stranded. Now the same has happened. Do you think I have a strong case for rejecting the car? |

From experience, yes, you have a log of all the dates and the system has all the warranty logs from job cards, either the dealer plays ball or straight onto the Finance company immediately, now they only have 30 days o resolve to your satisfaction, being a refund or a brand new car |

I initially thought of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, but your purchase will have been under the Sale of Goods Act on which there is commentary above.

Probably, but you need to talk to a consumer law solicitor. I have used the Sale of Goods Act to do exactly this but the law has changed recently, probably during your troubles so I'm not sure how that might change the situation, if it changes anything at all. The SOG Act sates that the goods must be of satisfactory quality (Clearly not) and durable (Again, clearly not) amongst other things. It also mentions things like being fit for the intended purpose but, I haven't read the new act yet so how much of this has been changed and also the actual effect of any changes are best left to someone who does it for a living. Good luck |
