Sounds about right, I'd confirm the split before replacing, and as the shock is integral with the strut you should change them in pairs... Delphi are OEM, Dunlops apparently don't last as long.... Pete

It's been standing now for a couple of hours and you can push the bag in with your thumb about half inch (the others are solid). I've tried the soapy water but can't see any bubbles. Is there anywhere else where air can leak out affecting just one air bag?

The struts are not connected to each other usually so it will be somewhere on the bag or in the pipe from the front valve which is at the rear of the drivers wheel arch. The hole could be in the fold of the bag and leaking very slowly so you won't hear it and bubbles could take some time to show themselves, start the engine, take it up to off road height and try the soapy water. My front O/S bag has a leak, initiallly hard to find, but after a few days got worse. If I raise the car to off-road height, I can hear air hissing out of the centre of the strut. have just bought 2 new Delphi units from Dan @ Duckworths, Island are quoting £249.50 + vat, Dan did them for £225 + vat 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!) |

Bought two struts from Paddocks, £258 each (Delphis). Turned out near side had been done about 2 years ago (before I bought it) but was a Dunlop (will sell this on the bay of e). Offside was original, so now waiting for the rears to go

That's nice to know, could do with a bit of a rest from repairs - especially as it's now cold and wet
