Auto locking, fold mirrors

Had my car at a main stealer having a new abs sensor fitted, whilst there I asked if they could make the mirrors fold in when I lock the car plus also lock the car when I drive off.
I wa advised it was not possible on my model (2008 Vogue SE) which I find simply amazing on a car with such technology on board.
I contacted another main stealer who also confirmed same.

Anybody else found this ? Many thanks
Paul

You can auto lock the doors as you drive away, but don't think you can do the mirrors - I seem to recall someone trying to build their own system to do it.

You can on the L405 - perfect reason to upgrade Thumbs Up

Ha ha bit extreme a 405 for auto locking

I have no way of doing it and if two dealers say no then I'm stuffed, dammit. Many thanks

Auto locking is a customer preference option in the settings. I switched it on, on my 2004 model, you can also choose whether pressing the unlock button on the fob unlocks all the doors or just the drivers door.

Folding mirrors when you lock isn't, it wasn't on my 2007 Jaguar either! Yet it was on my mums 2004 Citroen, along with auto closing of windows and sunroof if it rained - Citroen always seem to lead the way on tech mind you. Crazy really as it's only a question of them writing a bit of software code for the BCM.

Sadly I have no such option, as two main dealers confirmed. As you say a twiddly piece of software is all that's needed grrrr Many thanks

they're wrong - you can drive away locking activated.
From the 2009 Owners handbook.

Quote:
Drive-away locking
This security feature locks all the doors
automatically when the vehicle speed exceeds
16 km/h (10 mph).
Note that drive-away locking is not selectable
by the driver, and that operation of the door
locks by any other means (master locking
switch on the facia panel, for example) will
unlock the doors. Drive-away locking can be
configured by your Land Rover Dealer/
Authorised Repairer to automatically relock the
doors after they are unlocked, when the vehicle
speed exceeds 16 km/h (10 mph).
Drive-away locking can be selected,
deselected or re configured for
individual remote controls, by a Land
Rover Dealer/Authorised Repairer

It's definitely there, check your owners handbook and show it to them. Wink
