I did but am none the wise nor any further forward sadly. Surely two main dealers both can't be wrong ? Many thanks Paul |

It depends who you actually spoke to at the dealer, there's a good chance of two poorly trained service advisors being wrong. Armed with the handbook they can't really say it's not possible. I have plenty of experience with various manufactuers Main dealers service departments and Parts departments telling me this or that isn't possible or isn't available. Then when you present them with a print from the handbook or parts catalogue they take it off to someone else in an office or workshop and get told "yeah of course we can do it".

Auto locking is definately possible. I had it activated on mine just after I bought it. An indy did it for £40. Strangely it doesn't auto unlock when I shut the ignition off, as it does on my Dad's freelander 2 which also auto folds the mirrors on locking. |

As I said I got mine done at a local independent specialist. I booked it in for the wiring for the tow bar activating. You pay per 15 mins of time on their computers. I asked if there was time would they do the speed locking. As it happened they could not do the tow wiring harness as they said the option wasn't there but they did the speed locking. It turned out that the harness didn't need activating and they ended up not charging me anything at all! Happy days. |

Just get yourself an IID tool, you will be able to do your door looking, and a host of other things too (but not the mirrors unfortunately, that isn't an option on the earlier cars)
