I think it depends on which wiper arms you have. If you have the hook type them maybe not as it seems you just open the plastic fitting and hook them in. If you have the type described above then you need to squeeze together the two sides of the plastic fitting and completely remove it from the metal arm before clipping in the new blade. 2012 5.0L S/C

Fitted mine last night, dead easy 2 minutes for passenger side and about 4 minutes for driver side which is harder because of the spoiler getting in the way.

Just drove mine in light rain. Still a light thump at the end of each swipe but nowhere near as bad as the clunk on the old ones. 2012 5.0L S/C

They are not totally silent at the top of their travel, but they also aren't maddeningly deafening either and they are super quirt getting there Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Mine arrived, fitted with no problems but they still clunk as much as the Bosch 808s did, not really any quieter unless its different at speed.... Discovery 4 HSE

^^ can you hear it over the radio at start up volume, assuming that it comes quirt at the same level regardless of the ear bleeding level it was switched off at If you can then yours are noisy, if you can't then I would suggest that your Bosch wiper were quirt to start with

So come on chaps, what is the approved (or your) method for separating the original fitting from the arm, everyone says it was a PITA to do, but no-one describes exactly how? Does one "simply" prise it out by levering on the sides of the arm?

The N/S (passenger) ones are easy, remove the old blade and just squeeze the plastic in to the middle and it will free it's self. It should be the same for the drivers side, BUT, the aerofoil makes it all rather rigid, and the fact that it's stuck in the middle of the windscreen doesn't help either. In hindsight it would be an advantage to do the N/S first, then operate the wipers and stop them at the top of their travel, which would then make the drivers easy to get at, why did I only just think of that

When I got my FF the wipers clunked maddeningly as described. I fitted Bosch 808 nineteen months ago and they make no noise at all. Surprised that people are reporting noise. Wonder if it is down to adjustment of the arms rather than the blades? John
