Laughing the day-glow wipers caught me out too! Laughing

Glad it all went fairly painlessly.......... of cause someone had to discover that the passenger side was easier to do Embarassed Banging Head Banging Head Evil or Very Mad

Now that I have tested the new blades, it makes wonder why I Censored about trying to save the drivers side clip in the first place Thud Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I bought a set as well, not fitted yet as its being blowing a gale here.

Is there something to remove from the blade then?

Ian

I think it depends on which wiper arms you have. If you have the hook type them maybe not as it seems you just open the plastic fitting and hook them in. If you have the type described above then you need to squeeze together the two sides of the plastic fitting and completely remove it from the metal arm before clipping in the new blade. 2012 5.0L S/C

Question Where dose this bloody hook type wiper fitting keep coming from? Shocked

I have looked on several parts websites and they all say that the L322 from 2002- 2012 have the same wiper blades, and the ones that I had were not the hook type Evil or Very Mad
The rear IS HOOK TYPE, the front ARE BMW CLIP IN, totally different and not cross compatible or interchangeable with each other.

So unless you have changed the wiper arms (which I very much doubt is possible except with factory fit) you have the BMW Clips NOT HOOKS Banging Head

Right I have found where these bloody hooks are coming from, some of the wannabe Range Rover Sport's have hook type arms, not the L322 Vogue, so unless you is on the wrong site, you have to remove all the plastic bits from the metal wiper arm to fit the new Aero wipers. The easiest way to tell is the BMW clips have a a small arrow and the word "LOCK" embossed on them

You need to remove all of this from the end of the wiper arm

And all of this from the drivers side Shocked

You will then be left with this

Simples Thud

Fitted mine last night, dead easy 2 minutes for passenger side and about 4 minutes for driver side which is harder because of the spoiler getting in the way.

And I did remove the green protectors.

Just drove mine in light rain. Still a light thump at the end of each swipe but nowhere near as bad as the clunk on the old ones. Thumbs Up 2012 5.0L S/C

Mine arrived, fitted with no problems but they still clunk as much as the Bosch 808s did, not really any quieter unless its different at speed.... Discovery 4 HSE

^^ can you hear it over the radio at start up volume, assuming that it comes quirt at the same level regardless of the ear bleeding level it was switched off at Shocked If you can then yours are noisy, if you can't then I would suggest that your Bosch wiper were quirt to start with Shocked Shocked

I had to turn the radio up to hear it over the wipers, we is talking more of a thud at the top of it's stroke Evil or Very Mad now it is just a little clunk, as if to say I'm still here Wink

Plus your ffrr has 7 years less wear in the linkages, I bet that makes a difference too Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

So come on chaps, what is the approved (or your) method for separating the original fitting from the arm, everyone says it was a PITA to do, but no-one describes exactly how? Does one "simply" prise it out by levering on the sides of the arm?

My new Aero blades have been sitting in the garage since Christmas and it is time to fit! Thumbs Up .

The N/S (passenger) ones are easy, remove the old blade and just squeeze the plastic in to the middle and it will free it's self. It should be the same for the drivers side, BUT, the aerofoil makes it all rather rigid, and the fact that it's stuck in the middle of the windscreen doesn't help either. In hindsight it would be an advantage to do the N/S first, then operate the wipers and stop them at the top of their travel, which would then make the drivers easy to get at, Censored why did I only just think of that Censored Censored

Recon that having a small screwdriver to hand for prodding and the like, could be an advantage too Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

When I got my FF the wipers clunked maddeningly as described. I fitted Bosch 808 nineteen months ago and they make no noise at all. Surprised that people are reporting noise. Wonder if it is down to adjustment of the arms rather than the blades? John
