Your FFRR will never breakdown if it doesn't know the journey is urgent/important/essential |

On my previous RR, i used AA with their breakdown warranty repair cover. Whilst more expensive than others, i found them to be very good, Good Service and never tried to go back on payments when my battery/alternator went and needed replacing. 2011 5.0SC Santorini Black

Was with the AA since I was 17 years old, changed to the RAC about 14 years ago as the AA prices kept going up every year and I never used them once. Then last year the RAC tried to stuff me with price hikes and after asking if they could do any deals to which they said no I did a bit of research and GEM Motoring Assist seemed to get top marks so I've been with them the last 12 months. Oddly enough the RAC have been trying to offer me all sorts of offers since leaving them |

I am with the AA - I just cancel the renewal every year and re-join a day later as a new customer for the "brand new customer only" discount. The AA apparently treat any Range Rover breakdown as a VIP breakdown and I even had Land Rover themselves come out to my P38 a couple of years ago when the immobilizer lost contact with the key.

Thanks belldarr, Both the AA and the RAC seem so damned expensive. Nearly double of some of their rivals. |

I worked for one of the big two for over 13 years. They were both great in the old mutual days when they were true membership organisations. But now they are faceless corporates, penny pinching and having to jump through all the hoops that PLCs' need to do to keep the shareholders happy.

I'm with GEM and have used them multiple times in recent months thanks to various battery issues - well recommended! 2002 Range Rover Td6 Vogue |

I have RAC European - it's bundled with a bank account - along with family travel insurance - as I needed both, it worked out cheaper to have a bank account with a monthly charge than buy both policies.

I am with the RAC. I have a joint membership with my wife. We have 4 vehicles between us, so have used them a number of times. If you get cover, get the full package i.e. Home start, breakdown recovery, onward travel etc.
