wonder if that also extends to a certain LR main agent who used to remap their demonstrators, and also some customers vehicles as a sales sweetener...

this was of course before LR got all sulky about main agents & remaps....

yes you know who you are! Wink

i mailed je to ask if it was a problem to remap my chip, bearing in mind that my car has 200000km, mainly motorways , regularly serviced and no smoke or oil use, they told me not to do it because the remap puts a lot of stress on the engine Sad 2002 td6 vogue, 06 supercharged facelift

Hi Darren

To be honest 220,000kms (137,500miles) is a bit high for a tune
because it does put extra stress on the engine.

i've emailed the same bloke re mine being 118k miles and his response was that 118k was ok providing the engine was healthy...my next email was to ask what would happen when i increase my mileage by 10/20k to 138k miles which will be what yours is now...still waiting for a reply on that... ... - .- -.

my initial emails with JE have had a pretty negative impression on me.
firstly i asked 'can you do extra discount due to being a forum member'.....answer 'price is a discount price already'
asked 'because you recommended a members 138k miles not suitable for a remap , will mine [if done now and 118k] be ok in another 10/20k miles'..answer 'these bmw engines are strong and it is unlikely to do any damage'
i also asked why RAPID can do a remap for £245+vat [£50 cheaper] and they replied that they hadnt heard of them which i found strange as JE are in the business of doing remaps so they should know their competitors....
i found JE a bit 'bigheaded' and feel they think they are the only ones doing these remaps and you have to go to them cos they are the best, i wont....

i'm making an enquiry with RAPID as they do a £245+vat remap if you visit their CANNOCK workshops and they also do a RAPID PRO unit which they send to you and you do the remap yourself by downloading the remap onto this gadget and plugging it into you RR , and all done at home and not travelling to the workshop...will let you all know what response i get... ... - .- -.

Laughing that'll be Annette ??? lol. She's been fine with me, until I asked if they took American Express....noe she's gone all cold Rolling with laughter

Also, bit silly them not working Saturdays...... I think I'd be happy to pop in on Saturday morning for 1 hours work and £300 quid in the sky rocket... Shocked

Luckily I'm in Birmingham (that's not a phrase you'll hear everyday, is it ?) so I can reach JE or Rapid...so do let us know what you think of them.

Has anyone tried Bell Auto Services? The guys on Disco3 seem to rave about them.

IMO any tuner that will put a remap onto a car without doing a health check first isn't worth bothering with. I don't think it's wise to do mapping by post.
