Who ever had my ff before me had replaced the battery and as the new one was to big had balanced it on a bit of wood , this resulted in movement and the positive lead coming loose this then caused the positive battery terminal to partially melt meaning the positive lead would not tighten up on the terminal , I also started getting the usual bundle of warning lights , and a couple of times the car wouldn't start til the positive lead was wiggled a bit , so today I finally got round to sorting it , first new battery Bosch s5 110A /920A ( £125 from Eurocp) . Then I manufactured a wooden bracket to sit the battery on with clamps to hold it in place. See the photos you'll get the idea , just thought I'd post this in case anyone else has the same bother.

trimming the bottom lip of the lower passenger side edge will make it fit perfectly, might void the battery warranty though......

did that on my 3.6, as i couldn't get it in no matter how hard i tried  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I tried trimming the bottom lip off it was still about 5 mm to big , also tried loosening the battery tray off and moving it , so had to resort to what you see. What I will do is extend the cabling and change the connection to allow the battery to sit in the tray properly but I had nothing suitable in the garage so will look into that when I'm back at work

What is wrong with a correctly sized JLR battery sir? I ask as that seems like A, a lot of work B, questionable MOT standard & Finally C, the Bosch S5’s fail for a past time (well documented on here)

The Bosch ones are about £100 cheaper than the Genuine ones, would be one reason i suppose.

YDG000271 is the part number for the Land-Rover 110amp battery.

I think the genuine batteries are made by Exide or Varta depending on where they sourced them from on a given day.

Why do you have an 015 though? ECP list an 017 (90amp) and the 020 (110amp)

Hmmmm, inventive enough. Think I'd have bought the genuine thing complete with any missing mount brackets TBH.
