Saving DVDs to the car's hard drive?

Hi all - the dealer mentioned to me when I picked up my L405 AB that I could save DVDs to the car's hard drive, so I didn't have to carry so many of them around with me. I've played around with the system, but haven't worked out how to do this yet - can anyone help?

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but I think you can only save audio CD's not DVD's. DVD's take a lot of memory space so that would be the reason.

My Handbook page 150:

"Only Compact Disc Digital Audio (CDDA) discs can be uploaded into the CD store.
Only discs with CDDA tracks and no other type, can be uploaded to the Stored CD store"

A pity, but I think that means no to DVDs!

There is the option to convert your DVDs to Divx format and then save some on a USB stick (obviously you would want say a 64Gb stick due to the size of films etc) and then just play them via that using the 'My Videos' option. Steve

Thanks for the replies - ah well, I guess we'll just have to carry the DVDs with us. Not sure I'll ever get around to transferring them to USB sticks, but good to know all the same. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB
