My Driving Experience Today - Is The L405 Really Like This

Hi all

Had my 2013 SDV8 VSE into the local dealers yesterday to have the knocking suspension looked at and sure enough its been diagnosed as needing some bushes, possibly the start of the publicised 3 stage fix I dont know?

Anyway, it was only gone 1 day so I dont think I forgot how it was driving before I left it but when driving it today it felt very unsettled, I thought the road noise has increased, the steering feels vague to the point where I had to correct it in a very long bend and the knocking was as bad as I have heard it.

Is it possible that the prodding and poking has made things worse or is the L405 really like this? I genuinely feel like I'm in an early L322 again (had 3 so can recall it well).

I was always of the opinion that the ride was still too soft but now its too soft, noisy, unsettled and the damping is pretty rubbish. On a long sweeping bend that has humps in it the thing was up and down so much that my missus couldnt text her friend, we thought we were on a fair ground ride Rolling with laughter

As i said it was only gone 1 day so did I actually forget how a RR rides, if this is it albeit without the knocking that will be fixed, then its going the journey, way too soft and a complete lack of driving dynamic.

I really hope the technician unsettled something, maybe an alignment is needed or something, because this car has the road manners of an old roller or something. It felt lethargic, and very large, I don't remember taking one in that was like that Shocked

I think I see another high powered German SUV around the corner.

I have emailed LR customer service and will call them on Monday.

Thanks

Carl

Sorry, I meant no offense, just that many owners report a massive change in handling in the L405, which I dint think I'm feeling, is it me or my car?

They are heavy bits of kit, even if it's all aluminium.

Other than the usual checks re tyre pressures and tracking etc, which I'm sure you will have done..... What about driving another one for comparison ? Perhaps the dealer could let you try another L405 ?

If you are still unhappy, find a nice bit of road that illustrates your point and take both cars along it with the dealer ?

Never been in a current rr so no direct experience..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Just got it back last night, could the dealer have take suspension components apart when diagnosing the faults which has unsettled it?

It felt very strange to drive.
