I went for the Scorpion Zero All season in the end. I was looking for some Scorpion SF2s but there wasn’t any stock and Pirelli didn’t have them available until the new year. I could have ordered some off oponeo but in the end just went for the AS. I have them on the Disco and they have been fine There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Trip to Longleat with the tin tent….. v nice.

Made it down no hassle, did get a slight hot oily smell when I came off the M4 but I got the same thing in the same place last year, and didn’t get it again on the journey or t any time since the last trip..Smelled a bit like tarmac… didn’t smell when I got to the site.

Anyway, it’s now gone and chucked an amber engine light at me. And Sod’s Law I walked past the code reader before we left and thought I should put that in. 🤣

So I’m in the dark about the problem, with no reader. Will probably call the AA out to read and clear the fault before we head home don’t fancy a long tow with an amber light on. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Managed to nip into Frome and get a garage to read and clear the code.

Obvs either an issue with the sensor or the egts were high on one side……..possible due to a 3 hr tow but they shouldn’t be, as it seems to be a voltage issue it does suggest fubar sensor. Let’s hope it holds up on the way home and doesn’t put me into limping home….

Minimal internet here, any ideas or threads on here? I’m sure I remember something about the exhaust gas temp sensors a while back. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Made it home no dramas, nicely tucked in behind some trucks all the way so managed 28mpg and just above 1200rpm all the way home which isn’t bad with the van on the back.

Now onto to the job of fixing it, and finding the thread on how to get to the sensor.

Handily the light has come back on once I got home….. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Been reading my man maths books……..

I’ve seen a couple of nice D350s on the tinternet. Ooooo must resist. Could it be time for a new new Shiney.

Car has been booked in to LR for a service in the new year and they can fix the issue with the EGT sensor, I’ve had a look and it seems pretty fiddly to get to. First you have to take off the fuel filter and housing which makes access possible if tight. Then a heat shield has to come off from the top at which point you can get to the sensor while lying on the engine.

Then needs unplugging and removing. Which should be easy enough 🤣
Problem comes when refitting in that you can’t get a spanner on it so you need a socket tool which you can thread the wiring out of the top and then still get a socket extension into…… special LR tool aparently. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Been offered a trade value of £17250 for mine which seems a little low. Looking on AT at the retail price they seem mid £20k’s so was thinking 20k trade was reasonable. But 🤷‍♂️

Might keep it, and sell it privately but I really can’t be bothered…… There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

i was kinda in the same boat when i got my new one in may this year...mine was a euro 6 and i got a silly p/x value when buying but selling privately would have been a pain..

I’ve got a mate who does a bit of trading so I’m going to see what he will give me.

The one I’ve found is a great spec AB with roof rails, RSE and sig audio, deplorable side steps and tow bar, in dark blue. Black with ivory dash and headlining. 🤤 there was only a couple of questions. Wheels are 21” “stormer” (don’t know the code) which are black but the new ones I’ve put on mine would be bob on so I’ll put my old ones back on mine so that’s ok and I get a set of black winter wheels….

The other question was missing bonet letters. I’ve asked and they took them off and have them, a couple were peeling so they removed them all, new ones will be put on prior. So that all ok.

It’s going to cost IRO £29,000 to swap which is not small beans.

Going to get the reg and vin off the dealer and run some checks. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
