Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Corris Grey

My 2012 Westminster (25,000 miles) has had:
- new gearbox
- fuel burning heater software fault leading to battery drain, new battery required
- locking software fault leading to battery drain, battery could be revived
These all involved loss of vehicle use and were fixed under warranty.
Also rear brake caliper seizure, fixed at my expense
Trim issues fixed under warranty not involving loss of use:
- corrosion on wheels, new wheels supplied
- corrosion on window frame, new panels supplied
- leaking rear door seal, fixed by repositioning I think
- ill fitting rear door curved edge rubber, new rubber supplied
- corrosion on trim along sides of rear tailgate window, new trim supplied
-buzzing and rattling from behind dashboard, fixed by rebuilding (twice)
Trim issues now existing and to be complained about at next service
- window frame corrosion again
- bubbling in paint on either side of upper tailgate, bottom edge along from number plate lights, this seems a known fault going by threads elsewhere on here
- corrosion to upper tailgate damper struts
- corrosion to wheel centre badges (maybe some contribution on my part as these are swapped between the 19" and 20" wheels summer and winter)
I had been thinking of operating a 'three strikes and you're out' policy with this one, following the exasperating and costly series of failures on my last 322, but have not found anything else that meets my needs as well, so on we go...still under warranty, but I see the Sad cost of extending this plus LRA for another year is £1200... Only Range Rovers since 1988

Flippin eck CS you got a Friday afternoon car there by the looks of things. Glad to see the warranty has come to your aid. I do second the paintwork on the lower tail gate issue. Mines a 2011 MY and disappointed to see it starting to bubble only slightly for now.. Other than that I've had no issues but I've only had the car 6 months. Just about to break 80K and going smooth.

It would be worth finding out if the turbo pipe mod has been done (plenty of info on this but this is a good info thread:http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic29786.html) Known issue to LR but it seems fixed as and when rather than sorted on production line.

Good luck Thumbs Up 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Hi,
Had mine since January & only warranty issues have been a couple of oil pipe leaks on turbo oil pipe & oil cooler plus the fuel sender failed so it showed half full as it always does anyway Rolling with laughter
Did have water issue in the PDC module, that caused it to fail. I think (finger crossed) that was down to condensation as I've not been able to replicate the fault & can't find any signs of water ingress. Whistle

Good luck with the search Thumbs Up 2011 (MY12) 4.4 TDV8 Vogue

It's amasing isn't it.... my 2003 has absolutely no rust on either tailgate and yet time and again we see these posts about cars 10 years+ younger... what have they done, added salt to the paint!!!!! Pete

I've had my 2010 MY 3.6 TDV8 for 6 months and I've had no problems at all Thumbs Up

Locking wheel nuts are rusting and could do with replacing, one very insignificant advisory that I can't even remember from an over zealous tester and that's it - happy days (he said tempting fate) Whistle

Sold my 2005 (Purchased from new) TD6 Vogue with 150K on Clock and absolutely brilliant mechanically. Rust blebbing through rear wheel arches (even after LR replaced the rear offside wing under warranty) Replaced front air suspension arms x 2 and normal service cost's. Looked at replacing it with Tourag's, XC90's, ML's, Audi's Q7 and yet nothing comes remotely close to the Rangee luxury, by the time you build other manufacturers products up to same Range Spec! Now on route to look at striking a deal on a 2014 TD6 Vogue new shape. Happy days! Diver Bryn

Turbo drain pipe modification.

Rear tailgate window side rubber trims replaced due rust in old trim clips.

A/C compressor replaced.

Oil pump replaced due to 'shimmying' noise. You can still hear the noise albeit a lot quieter, so I'm not convinced it was the oil pump.

Bubbling paint in centre of N/S rear door.

Wheel centre caps corroding.

TV screen.

All work done under warranty. I'm glad I have another two years LR extended warranty left when the manufacturer's warranty runs out in January next year!

Same as previous poster Vogue with the rear screen trims, no big deal. Also had a drive belt pulley making a noise which was duly fixed without issue under warranty by Lookers Bishops Stortford. Thumbs up to them

Just sold vehicle and it was the most reliable car I have owned over last 3 and a half years, shaming the previous Mercs and Audis which all let me or the Mrs down on at least one occasion each. The RR never once failed us.

Gearbox failure.

Out of interest how did the gearbox failure manifest itself? I thought these new 8 speed gearboxes were fairly robust?

What happened is that about 2 litres of gearbox oil leaked form where the gearbox and engine meet. The gearbox had continued to work as normal but LR decided that it should be replaced, perhaps because the loss of fluid might make it uncertain whether it would be OK in future. Only Range Rovers since 1988
