Why do you need to remove the hub nut? rear disc is held in place by an allen screw in the disc face. This will release the disc/drum and give access to the springs and handbrake cable assembly at the top of the hub. .

Need to release the hub nut, remove hub to renew brake backplate believe it or not!!! Lot of work for a posy bit of tin!!! |

The backplate is a solid round unit that bolts/fixes in such a way you need to remove lots to fit WD! |

Mrs WD is bring some of them springs home from work later that are used on there cars to see if they do the job.
