2012 FFR Display & Instruments and Sound questions

Hi folks,

I wonder if some of you can shed some light on some things I ask myself since owning the 7/12 TDV8 for a week or two now.

1.) main instrument cluster - the space between the two dials seems to be only used for the menu controlled by the top right multifunction button.
Its mainly black during a normal drive, even with the NAV system switched on.
Why does the NAV system does not use this space while driving to assist with lane change and turn right/left instructions plus a small graphic?
Am I missing something here or is this the way it shall be?

2.) I do have the 1200 Watt Logic 7 HD system and I am somewhat disappointed from the outcome of music. I tried all sources now, radio, CD, Ipod and USB Stick and I can't for the best try get a decent bass line from it.
While typing and thinking now, maybe the subwoofer is inactive either by a blow fuse or made inactive by removal of said fuse. Question: is the subwoofer an active system with a seperate fuse? need go and check this.

3.) Does the NAV System show traffic jams and slow moving traffic by some means? There are some red and yellowish arrows in the 3D screen if you use multiframe viewpoint (traditional viw left and 3D view right of scree)

4.) I had a NAV update done by the dealers and the nav material is from may 2014 - is this the latest one?

regards and thanks for help

No sir, that is how the dash was made! Disappointing as they never finished writing the software to have the NAV in the centre as they do in the L405! Rolling Eyes

Check the sub woofer has not broken into 2 halves! Find they de-laminate a lot Rolling Eyes

Does in the UK so don't see why it should not in Germany Neutral

Ensure you have tuned the TMC to an active European TMC station (in the UK it tends to be Classic FM). Land Rover Addict

on the 2006-2009 years there is a small TMC logo on the top left of the screen , i should think yours is the same...
if the logo has a red line through it then its not receiving data ... ... - .- -.

Hi, well, I do have the logo and its recieveing data, but I am "used" to the nav apps on the Iphone,
showing green roads for free traffic, yellow(ish) for slow traffic, ornage for stop n go and red into dark red-black(ish) for standstill.
This is convenient for the morning commute and it works almost exact to the meter.

I just wondered if the high-tech Nav system would have something similar or maybe an update available. I understood the whole thing is from Becker, so shoul dbe possible to get an up to date service from this system?

I would have loved to have some sort of mark on the road ahead in graph display telling me there is a bloackeg or slow traffic etc.

Maybe I am expecting to much as its still a Range Rover... Rolling with laughter

I am slightly disappointed with the main centre TFT as it does not make use of the space between the dials.
Thats absolutely "stunning".

thanks so far,
regards

Closed roads are marked in black with a white circle each end of the problem. Issues are reported when you are using the navigation functions, you can check ahead if not using the menus. Your vehicle will recalculate routes if it is aware of problems and alert you. Land Rover Addict

Hi all, I need to come back on this again.
I had a nosey around the internet over the weekend and found some pictures and a movie,,
clearly showing "music information" between the two dials on a 2010 Range Rover L322.

See pics below.

And in this Video you can see it in abt 20 seconds into the film as well

So, questions:
1. Can I have this as well in my 2012?
2. why don't they make it "selectable"?
3. if you have your satnav running, you can't even see what source of music you choose with the mode button ion the steering wheel....

Am I missing something here?
Can't believe a 100+k€ vehicle from 2012 has such alarming comfort mishaps?

I sort of accepted that it does not show the nav arrows in the main display upfront.

Well, thanks again gents, but thats utterly dissapointing, not to call it "bullshitting" customers.
I can't see a reason why they should not be able to provide a proper update on this, even more so as the hardware seems to be more or less the same as in the later models.

They even had two years from 2010 until mid 2012 where they still produced the L322 and did not come up with a solution as promised in video, brochures and owners manual?

You actually wonder why all those first customers did not jump the necks of the people involved - dealers, Landrover reps, whoever..... funny ain't it?

I will try my best and check my connections into LR germany - won't be of much help I guess, but maybe its worth a try at least.

Even microsoft provides after sales serveice for old software roughly a decade after selling it stopped, so Landrover should be able to serve long standing customers with 3 year old products.

What a misery..... and what a missec chance.

I really wonder if the GAP people know of this?
Need to check. Its only bis and bytes after all. Not rocket science.

It would be great if you get it to work Heppsen and although it is only bits and bytes, there are a lot of manhours involved in developing and testing this stuff even for such a seemingly small change. The investment for GAP would be quite high.

Maybe they should start a Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign for these sort of mods and if enough of us L322 fans get into it, they can get it to work maybe and not loose their shirt Wink. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Well, I would support this, but can't see a big problem actually.

after all its all there anyway:
the dials are meant to move if needed, so this is already programmed (part of 4wd system showing in the middel if selected)
the nav system does have a part screen showing the next exit and way to go - so should be easy to be used (read: send) to be displayed on another screen (read: main display)
the audio system also des show what it plays on the middel screen, so again, it could be easy to show this information on the main display (and it must have been programmed actually as its been photographed before launch of the 2010 model)

so basically the computer is there, the info is there and the screens are there..... whats the point in not making use of a combination of these?

Hard to accept that this should not be a solvable problem - only question is: who to ask?
