Thanks. I'm always pretty confident about the cars I have. They are well looked after and not abused in any way.
The Range Rover is only problematic after a (quite possibly) unnecessary visit to a garage.

I won't sell it though. It a great motor. Thumbs Up

I wonder, if in the spirit of being 'helpful', the gearbox adaptions were reset at the same time as the ATF? have seen an Indy do this, thinking he was bing helpful. Possibility? 2006 4.2 SC

It's a possibility, Steve.

I'm not sure I want to take the car back to them now, but I suppose I'll have to let them have a look at it.

I just don't see how the garage could argue with the document from ZF below. I'll send a copy to them.

Not wanting to hi jack the thread but this is a very relevant post for me. Car is now at 120,000 and no gearbox issues so should I run the risk of getting the oil changed and flushed. ? Re the jerk from 2 to 1 st I have had this on at least two FFRRs where this has been present. So are you sure it wasn't there before and you have only just noticed ?

Just to update, I took the plunge and got the gearbox oil changed as well as both diffs. The gearbox wasn't flushed but we got out over 7lites of oil through draining. All looked ok for 125,000. Interesting thing is the box is now a lot smoother and the jerk from 2nd to 1st has completely gone.

Re diffs as been reported else where - rear diff like chocolate indicating water ingress etc. Front diff - didn't seem to have any oil in at all, despite being dry so not indicating any leaks. Again, since being done car a lot quieter on hard acceleration. 2013 L405 AB 4.4SDV8 Luxor/Ivory, 2007 Vogue TDV8 Epson Green/Sand, 2008 Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue/Sand, 2003 Vogue 4.4 LPG Epsom Green/Sage, 1998 Vogue SE 4.6 LPG Epsom Green/Cream
