Checking it is using it in the eyes of the law... Just holding it is illegal! Stationary or moving in traffic! |

^ Agree with all the in motion use it's the stationary bit that is the grey area in my mind, personally I think that if your stack in traffic and start looking or calling on a mobile phone then it is no more dangerous than scratching your arse in fact the law states that if you must use a mobile then you have to pull over before making or taking a call....is that not the same as being stationary??? some might argue it's actually more dangerous because of the obstruction caused by a parked vehicle on the highway The forums premier drug dealer and human trafficking consultant

Jim, I think the distinction between being stopped in traffic compared to being stopped and parked is that when parked you aren't "active" in traffic and therefore are at liberty to perform actions that would be deemed dangerous were you do them whilst waiting for traffic around you to move off. Regardless of the various laws that driver is nothing but a divv. Why does he think he's above the law? Or that he has the right to endanger others on the roads we all have to share?

But not laptop! Headphones! A phone! All at the same time Mark!!! That's the point! One will limit your concentration where as all three will be an absolute distraction which inevitably will land up in someone loosing their life! Plain stupid!!!!!!!!! |

I agree with you. What I don't agree with is members of the public playing at being the law and posting video of people breaking it. Regards

Just to add to this.... Every day I see women driving along in traffic putting their make up on in the mirror, (even on the motorway in this case). I've seen mothers rolling along at low speeds through traffic whilst reaching over to retrieve a dropped feed bottle for their child stapped in the seat behind them. I've seen people eating fast food whilst balancing a cup of coke between their legs...

^ I know exactly where your coming fom Mark, I'm not saying using your mobile phone when driving is right it's not but there is a real vendetta against those that do yet as you rightly say the amount of mothers that are caught preening themselves in the vanity mirror when taking their kids to school and folk filling their gobs with Burger King and coffee get away with it....all of the above is dangerous but why is using a mobile deemed worse The forums premier drug dealer and human trafficking consultant
