Very nice product! Wish I had a towing connector now. That would make it so easy. My connection under the bonnet is working ok but a but of a botch job really. I've just ordered one of these to try it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-CTE-56263-Cig...160%2C160_ |

You will need a permanently powered socket for that to work, or if the socket is ignition switched, find the relay which switches it on and bridge the terminals with a link wire to make it permanent.

Yes Martin, a lighter plug It would appear that there is a live one in all the ffrr's, the one in the boot, although if your car is of BMW origin then any socket will work, provided that the fuse is intact I just thought that it would be a cheaper option for those who don't tow with there Range Rovers ( I thought that was what they were made for, but it appears that I may have been mislead and contrary to popular belief, a towbar is an option and not standard equipment had to pick myself up after that one ) Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Can I ask what's the ctec fly lead? I currently have a ctec charging the RR but it's just connected under the bonnet to the battery. 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography |

The socket with ring terminals, fitted permanently to the battery.

Yep, the crocodile clips but sometimes they pop off and the lead to ctec is not quite long enough. Also yesterday I noticed what looked like condensation in the small lights on the charger. 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography |

I have a CTEK 5.0 with+/- cable permanently fixed to the battery terminals. This is rolled up and stored in the battery box when not in use. Simply pull out and connect to an extension lead of the Ctek - simples. regularly leave on charge all week as only use the fatty at weekends. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

I've just looked in my MXS 5.0 box and found one of those fly leads, so I'll use that. Only thing that bothers me is it doesn't have an inline fuse so if some scumbag decides to cut wires and join together then 😡 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography |

Mine is maintained inside a garage so I don't have that risk.

Surely it's easy enough to add an inline fuse ? |

I'm not exactly worried as such, area is nice enough but I have a hard time trusting the human race 😁 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography |
