iidtool height adjustment

my fronts are the same height as the rears [760mm] so naturally with the iidtool i 'upped' the fronts by 10mm..when i rechecked the fronts they were now at 780mm so i decreased by 10mm and it went down to 760mm again...by increasing by 5mm i seem to be at 770mm...
any ideas why the 'increase' number is doubled?

btw, latest beta 3.0 version firmware loaded. ... - .- -.

You are adjusting the calibration values, not the height value (though they are both linked)

I have tried to work out the logic behind calibration, and it's all just witchcraft Shocked

But the calibrated values are altered as you adjust the height. That's how the car knows what height it's sitting at Thumbs Up

agreed , but the height settings are in mm and if you increase by 10mm then it should go up in that value.. ... - .- -.

It should..... Laughing

I agree with each of you 50% (sorry ,not very helpful, but my experience is similar/worse, tell LHF to go up, it stays where it is) .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

There is a + or - 9mm tolerance on the height, maybe that's got something to do with it....

Try it in tight tolerance and see what happens.... Pete

theres no reference in the manual about adjusting the heights in tight tolerance mode nor anything about a 9mm plus or minus so i'm sure its not that..
thanks for the suggestion pete.. ... - .- -.

Spot on.

From the user manual:

Quote:
-Changes in calibration are instantaneous in the EAS ECU but the ECU may not apply these changes immediately. The EAS ECU will adjust a corner when it’s +/- 10 mm or higher than the desired height. For example if the corner is at +9 mm, it will not adjust the height.

-The settings and changes are given in millimeters but this does not correspond exactly to changes at the wheel. Each change in height must be measured from the bottom of the wheel arch to the center of the wheel (see step 5).

The later is caused by the sensors non linearity.

Cheers! Thumbs Up

Without going out and having a fiddle my immediate reaction is this is it something like radius and diameter ? if you see what I mean does it locate an imaginary mid point?
Or should I just go back to the sherry Confused

Stan...

You measured it and it was, for the sake of argument, 100mm.... the actual value was 109mm but it hadn't adjusted it as it was within it's 9mm tolerance....

You raised it to 110mm so it's actual value is now 119mm and as it had to move anyway it rose to it's actual value... 119mm.

So, you raised it 10mm and it raised 19mm (give or take the odd 1mm)

If you put it in tight tolerance it goes to + or - 3mm so you will get a more accurate reading, just make sure you take it out of tight before using it otherwise it will be up and down like a yo-yo.... Pete
