If it is a Td6 the remap does make a huge difference.

£250.00 does sound cheap, most reputable firms charge a lot more.

A remap can cause excessive wear on the drive line and the gearbox!

who is offering the £250 remap?

The MPG gets a little better but you have to teach your gearbox to shift up early to use the extra torque and to do that you must accelerate every where on as light a throttle as possible. It also seems to do another trick where to overtake hard you floor the throttle but lift off straight away and then plant the throttle and the car will now accelerate as hard as it can in a higher gear and I find this helps.
I had my TD6 re-mapped two years ago and it transforms the engine (still a bit vocal though) 400 nM of torque sounds about right but an extra 50 hp is a bit more than most tuners say you can safely get , just over 200 hp seams the norm.
With the caveat that these figures are what I have seen written but I haven't personally put mine on a dyno. 2008 MY Supercharged

Is a remap on a TD6 a pretty sure way to wreck the gearbox?.

Paul, is this the same car that eats gearboxes and diffs, which you mentioned in anoter post? Shocked

As I said chipping can cause excessive wear.

Mine is chipped more than most, and is driven very hard.

The chap who did mine had a Td6 with over 250 Bhp, races a comp safari bowler and scares the life out of me when on the car. His has done 120000+ miles on the original gearbox.

Chipping can cause gearboxes to go, it does depend on how you put the power down.

At least one of my replacements was faulty

got the car bak, got a tip from garage man to drive it hard for a full tank worth so engine can recognise the driving style and adjust.

after 15 minute drive started to feel the difference.

all in all Thumbs Up

but will paying another visit in 6 months for a further increase Wink
