Full fat may very well be sat for weeks at a time,so considering a trickle charger.Anyone recommend some thing reasonably priced?
Thinking of one i can just p!lug in to the car rather than peeing about under the bonnet.Any suggestions reccomends appreciated regards.

Can't go wrong with a CTEK

They come with connections that you can permanently wire, so it's quick & precise to plug in - you still get the option to use clips

I got mine on an Amazon deal so even better

I have the same issue.
I use a CTEK but I have also used Ultimate in the past, both are or were OEM for high brand exotics (Ferrari etc.)

I think both makes come with a permanent connection point with quick connector on the end. It can be connected directly to the battery or via the supply point for the tow bar in the boot (behind right hand panel). Both also have optional extra 12V socket adapters although I'm not keen on using those.
If you have a tow bar then you can make up a plug in connector which will charge via the tow bar electrics point, that's what I did.

You know it's time to charge when you get the HDC inactive warning on start-up

i use a normal charger on a timer plug giving it low charge on my audi, two 30 min intervals in 24 hrs been fine for six months under the cover now  _____________________________________________________

I got a silly cheap one from Lidl or similar a few years ago... about £9.99 if I remember right, it can be hard wired as well...

Works great and does the job... it charges and discharges to keep the battery in top condition automatically and is smart enough to not switch on should you get the connections wrong.... my point is although CTEK is undoubtedly the world leader in chargers there is nothing special about an FF that means you have to use one... any 12v trickle charger will do, just check it is OK to use with the battery still connected...

Or do what Scotty said, although that won't condition a battery if you are leaving it for months.... and you shouldn't connect a normal charger with the battery still connected, most will spike when switching on and off and can damage bit's of your FF Pete

Also if it's plugged in on the drive, make yourself a big sign saying so and wedge it in the steering wheel or one day you WILL drive off with it still connected....  Pete

Done that! Drove over the Ctek Zafir 100 charger (connected to a water proof socket mounted in the right lower air vent in the grill).... Repaired the cracks in the Ctek with some Tec7 - still working fine

What I do now when connecting the charger, is to pull the 220v cable over the side mirror on the driver side. Then I shouldn't forget that the charger is connected
