MOT tomorrow....

Ok its time for the annual pilgrimage to our local testing centre, 2 cars going in on the same day. Mine and Swmbos.

Fingers are crossed, all should be OK, will have a wander round hers as no doubt its missing a headlamp or something else she has failed to notice....

Points of interest on mine will be a slight knock on the rack, the local mechanic thinks its so slight it should be OK, not fancying 2k on a new one..... Also am interested to see how the brake lines fare. But other than that it seems in fine fettle. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Have you accidentally left a £20 note on the passenger seat by any chance? Whistle

Mine came back with an advisory on the lower front suspension arm bushes this afternoon.
There's a link to them below should anybody else have the need to replace theirs.

If it lasts more than 4 years it'll be doing better than the factory fitted pair that are on it now! Shocked

Cheers chaps Thumbs Up

Got an mid morning slot, which is a bit tactical.....

Not so early he is in a bad morning mood
Not so late in the morning he's hungry
Not late in the day so he isn't knackered..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Both cars through! Just a couple of advisories, tracking on swmbos skoda is a bit off, so has worn a perfectly good michelin on the inner edge sitll legal though!

The ffrr has advisory on front brake pipes, slightly corroded where they join the flexi. Thinking, cut out a section and put a join to a new section behind the wheel arch liner, is this a decent enough fix, local indy quoted me £80 which seems fair enough. The alternative is a couple of complete new front pipes, from the stealer. Which I am waiting on a price. They aren't that bad that they failed mostly jus the paint peeing off the pipe Thumbs Up

Rack aparently is ok, minimal play👍👍 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Well done on the two passes, play in the rack is more than likely a rack end, now it's started it will degrade quickly, they are pretty cheap and easy to do especially if they have it apart to do the brake pipes.... Pete

I know there are joint couplers available to do this but I've never seen a garage use them, why would you want to add another potential leaky area into a safety system. Best pay the mechanic £80 to do the work if you're not sure about doing it yourself...What price safety?!!!

p.s. might be worth changing the flex pipes while you're at it Thumbs Up
