^ That s was our family car for years it had the comfiest leather interior I had ever seen! Spent many hours sitting in the back on long journey's to the coast. Broke down a few times though..... |

I don't dislike the Maxi as such, my aunty and uncle had a few whilst I was growing up and it was the first new car they bought in 1980. It's just not one I can get excited about.

Ok, I'll admit that the true landcrab is the larger 1800. That read is a real eye opener, started off life as an over sized Mini, then decided to be an A40, before getting mixed up with the styling cues of the Austin Cambridge, to eventually become the 1800. No wonder it had issues, talk about mixed up!

There's a place just down the road from me who restore these. A couple of nice examples outside.
