Looking at it logically then surely large chunks of rubber going round at 50mph-70mph will never be as quiet as 'normal' tread Whistle

Try a set of Mud Terrains and then tell me if your LTZ's are noisy, you should try the STT Coopers they really sing at anything over 40 Very Happy Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

The LTZ's fitted to mine seem quiet enough, not intrusive at all.

Thats because you have fitted a used set sir! If you read everyones experiences. Most will advise once fitted, do NOT move tyres around on vehicle or they will get noisy!!!

Even if they only have 1/2mm of wear from new! Your car won't be set up exactly the same as the first car they were on sir...

It would be good to have actualy test data from tyre tests (new and used and rotated and the lot), I would be interested if it is dBs or frequency (us oldies usually less high and mid range so low becomes more pronounced for example).

I would love to see the difference between the Coopers LTZ and road tyres from new and a few months in (without rotating them to other wheelhubs on the car obviously) to start with. Even if it is with a smartphone with noise measurement app (I have one and love playing with it Smile ). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Mentioned it a few times before, they are not as quiet as other "normal" tyres and mine were new when they went on. Stil have a set of 5 brandnew in the garage, but don't know if I'll ever use them although they are great tyres and do well.

Well Robert, since you will be doing very little than eat, drink and be merry, maybe you can find the time to do a test circuit with road and LTZs on the FFRR and report back your findings on dB readings on your smartphone PLEASE ??? Smile Smile Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Shiet, have allready bought a FFRR, now I have to change tyres twice and buy a smartphone too...?
And all that because I perceive the noice of Coopers being less comfy as other tyres?
If you want the proof that there is no difference, just go ahead, be merry, get out in the snow or sand, whatever you have and do your thing, it was your idea. Ner Ner Ner Ner

how is the ride with these LTZs on 22s? Even worse than "normal" all seasons? I plan on getting a set of 22" stormers come summer and need s good tire.

If you want good ride then you want the smallest wheel that will fit the car and the corresponding tyre to go with it. The lower the profile the harder the ride, better for treating your ffrr like a go cart and for towing, but not so good for wafting along. At the moment I'm on 18's with 255/60/18 tyres, but I'm thinking about going to 20's to improve the towing ability.
I have a set of General Grabber AT's on the rear, and I must say that they are very quirt, alot quirter than the Cooper STT's that are on the Jeep, they start to sing at about 35 and by 65 your lucky if you can hear the radio Very Happy Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I'm running Cooper STTs on my D1. The road noise is near silent compared to the Insa Turbo Special Tracks that were on it previously...
Sounded like a twin-prop plane driving down the road! Shocked
