Andrew, what Stan means is to edit your profile in settings so the footer of your posts shows what you have for a Fatty.

I have updated it, but it doesn't show -nothing seems to be working at present and it's just not the car! |

It's pretty easy to have a look behind the panel. There is a single screw on the side panel in the footwell, and then the wooden bits at the side of the switches clip off sideways.

100% get the AA/RAC to recover it to a professional before you turn into a statistic my friend...I personally would not drive it one more inch before resolving the problem... |

Thanks guys. I have removed the ventilation facia and the main wire loom connector (it's blue on my car) has burnt out, but seems to have welded onto the panel. Everything else works, even the rear blower. So what's the damage and how much? It will need some loom, the blue connector and maybe the motherboard on to which it attaches as that may have been burnt as we'll |

You can't just replace them without finding the source of the overload sir... Else you will just burn out the next plug & potentially more next time around...

Yes I agree. Just need to fully disconnect it now to ensure that it doesn't cause further problems but I can't get the main loom off as it's welded to panel. Which connection transfers the power to the unit - does anyone have a photo or diagram? Thanks |
